About Us
Joy Lorenzana
Joy Lorenzana is the founder of Joy Lorenzana & Associates Educational Consultants and has successfully helped high school students apply to and get admitted to the colleges of their choice for over 25 years.Her goal is to empower students and their parents as they navigate the college selection and application process by providing first-rate advice, guidance, and support. Joy specializes in matching students with schools that will provide the best “fit” for them. Students that Joy has worked with have been accepted to and attend schools such as UCSD, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSB, Columbia, University of Michigan, Tufts, Princeton, and Carnegie Mellon, as well as medical and law schools. Joy is a graduate of UCLA (B.A. in English, MPH in Health Services) and has completed coursework for her doctoral degree in Higher Education at the University of Southern California (ABD). Prior to becoming a full-time educational consultant, Joy worked for almost two decades in public health and higher education, where she worked in community-based nonprofit organizations as well as UCLA and USC’s Keck School of Medicine. Joy lives and works in South Lake Tahoe, but also spends time with family in San Diego and the Bay Area.
Debjani Bose
As a dedicated high school coordinator with over a decade of experience in the Poway Unified School District since 2012, Debjani has extensive expertise in guiding students through their academic journeys. Throughout her tenure, she has worked closely with students on high school course selection, helping them navigate curriculum options that align with their interests and future goals. Her experience also extends to advising students on extracurricular activities that complement their academic pursuits and personal development. Debjani is deeply passionate about empowering students to reach their full potential, taking pride in creating personalized educational pathways that allow them to discover their strengths and interests. Debjani’s greatest satisfaction comes from witnessing students grow in self-awareness and confidence as they progress through the high school experience, ultimately preparing them for success in their future endeavors.
